Here at Glen Waverley Secondary College we have a major school production each year. Our school productions involve students in all aspects- onstage, backstage tech crew, musical orchestra, dance as well as costuming and makeup. Production is a great opportunity for student to take part in a unique collaborative learning experience. Each year there is a strong focus on increasing the students’ skill level and encouraging a higher level of school connectedness. Apart from being great fun, the production nurtures students to develop invaluable skills such as self-confidence, articulation, leadership qualities, team work, and responsibility as well as more creative-based talents. GWSC has won numerous Lyrebird and Musical Theatre Guild of Victoria awards for our productions, including Best Junior Production, Best Director, and Best Ensemble Youth Production just to name a few.

In addition to our major school productions, we also conduct Student Lead Productions on a regular basis. This gives the student opportunities to not just act and perform, but to also demonstrate leadership skills though directing and producing.
