Student Wellbeing


The Wellbeing staff at Glen Waverley Secondary College provide support to students in a confidential, safe and sensitive manner.

Counselling
Students have access to the Student Wellbeing team comprising of a Director of Wellbeing, Counsellors and Mental Health Practitioner via:

  • Referrals from sub school managers or teachers
  • Self-referrals
  • Parent request

 

Student Support Services maintain student’s confidentiality, however if deemed necessary to disclose information to parents, this is done with the students knowledge and consent. Students may also be recommended to receive ongoing, directed and specialist support from external agencies.

The Wellbeing Support Services run a range of programs for students across all year levels;

  • Lunch Clubs
  • Allies
  • Peer Support Program
  • Mindfullness
  • Wellbeing Days including “IDAHOBIT DAY”, “International Women’s Day”, “R U ok? Day” and “Mental Health Week”

 

Students can also be involved in fundraising events, action groups and awareness raising projects.
