The 2024 ‘SSV’ State Track & Field Championships were recently contested at Lakeside Stadium, with over 255 schools from across the state competing in an array of athletic events. One of our largest GWSC Athletics Teams in recent memory converged on the big blue track, ready to make a ‘STATE’ment!
The AFL Unity Cup Carnival was contested on Sunday the 15/9/24 at La Trobe University. We had a total of 128 registered players engaged in our Term 3 program, who came together to form our nine ‘GWSC GIANTS’ teams who played AFL 9’s, against fellow sides from different communities all over Victoria.
Nineteen GWSC girls from Year 7 were recently invited to attend a special STEM based excursion at the 60th Anniversary of the ‘Sandown 500’ Enduro, one of 12 rounds of the Supercars Championship. This special event was hosted and run by the ‘FiA’ Motorsport Australia ‘Girls on Track’ program.
We would like to congratulate our GWSC ‘Intermediate Girls’ Cricket Team, who are better known as ‘The Willows’, on being crowned the 2024 ‘School Sport Victoria’ Intermediate Girls Cricket STATE CHAMPIONS!
Breaking News…. We have another State Title winning sports team at GWSC this year! Our Intermediate Girls Table Tennis team recently travelled to MSAC Stadiums and took out the 2024 ‘School Sport Victoria’ Intermediate Girls Table Tennis State Championship.
Glen Waverley Secondary College is developing an alumni program called ‘GAP’ to assist our former students and staff members to keep in touch with one another, whilst also maintaining a strong and meaningful connection with our school community.
