To acknowledge National Reconciliation Week this year, our GWSC community engaged in a number of activities where they had the opportunity to learn more about indigenous histories, cultures, and achievements, whilst also exploring how we can each contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
Congratulations to Hannah Wong, Branden Ong and Jeneath Wong who all represented our College exceptionally well at the 2022 ‘SSV’ Victorian State Golf Titles and showed us all just how this great game should be played!
From the 2nd to the 6th of May this year, GWSC hosted its eighth annual ‘Poverty Awareness Week’, to raise awareness and also funds for communities across the globe who are afflicted by this injustice.
Congratulations to our GWSC Year 10 ‘STEM’ Team of Aylin Cemiloglu, Katrina Tran, Parishi Shah, Seanna Herlekar and Simran Sihota, who won the National Finals of the 2022 ‘Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix’ STEM Challenge!
The 2022 ‘AFL Unity Cup’ Carnival was recently contested, with GWSC students coming together to form seventeen ‘Multicultural Magpies’ teams who played AFL 9’s against fellow culturally and linguistically diverse sides from communities all over Victoria.
A cohort of GWSC girls from Year 7 recently participated in the ‘FiA’ Motorsport Australia ‘Girls on Track’ STEM program during the Shannon’s Motorsport Australia Championships, which were contested at the Phillip Island Circuit.
