Worlds greatest shave

On the 12th of March, the College once again held its annual World’s Greatest Shave event organised by our student led Fundraising and Community Services Committee.

Students and staff alike gathered under the sails to witness 11 extraordinary students shaving their heads in support of the Leukaemia Foundation. These students, ranging from years 7 to 10, have so far raised a massive $10,516.49 in online donations. We would like to congratulate our courageous shavers- Akhil Ambati, Vin Perera, Emily Trainor, Rebecca Remson, Lachlan Wong, Charlie Milne, Maya Andersson, Chloe Teo, Akila Mannapperuma, Bineth Silva and Ryan Shao- as well as Sayuni Wickramasinghe, who donated her ponytail to sustainable salons. We would also like to thank our exceptional staff members who shaved the heads of our shavers- Beni Billimoria, Carla Gagliardi, and Mark Robinson.

Thanks to the coloured hair spray, temporary tattoo, wristband, and bandana stations set up by our  Fundraising and Community Services group, the College raised an astounding $1,050 within the lunchtime. We would like to thank Ms Jenes and her Fundraisers for all their support, as well as our brilliant College community who helped raise this amount of money.

Of course, the event would not have run smoothly without the help of our MC’s- Tynan Periera, Saipriya Prakash, Hugh Edwards, Anuk Ratnatunga, and Lois Sze- as well as the Tech Crew who helped us all set it up. Once again, we are incredibly pleased to see the College community come together for this event- it is a wonderful demonstration of all of our core values.
