International Student Program for senior students
(years 10 - 12)

Glen Waverley Secondary is an International learning community. College enrolments are drawn from over 40 nationalities and more than 50 languages are represented. Renowned for its student success, the college learning program is designed to support individuals and develop the whole person.

Glen Waverley Secondary College is a Government School operated by the Department of Education and Training (DET). It is one of the four largest secondary colleges in Victoria.

International students are regarded as important contributors to the College's culture and ethos. The educational program at the College is designed to support the development of the whole person, with positive self-image, seeking excellence and respecting the rights of others.

All students are encouraged to develop an international perspective that recognises the importance of acquiring the skills to operate successfully as global citizens. An essential component of GWSC’s vision and values is appreciating diversity which includes students’ diverse cultural heritages and diverse ways of knowing and being.

The mature atmosphere of the senior school creates the environment essential for students to achieve their best. Students and teachers enjoy a close and professional working relationship. In addition, GWSC offers after school study hall where experienced teachers are recruited to help the international students consolidate material learnt during their regular classes.

The International School coordinators ensure that students’ welfare and wellbeing needs are met. They are in regular communication with overseas parents. Students also have access to a wide range of counselling resources. Carefully selected homestay parents provide a welcoming environment that is a “home away from home”.
