Reports FAQ & FEP

GWSC publishes its official Semester Reports online.

This page lists answers to frequently asked questions, and offers tips to help solve frequently encountered problems.

Can I request a printed Report?
Parents can request a printed Report be produced and mailed to them at their registered address. Request printed Reports via the appropriate Sub-School Office.

When are Reports available online?
Semester Reports are released at mid-year and at the end of the year. Interim Reports (unofficial observations of work habits) are also published online during Semester 1. The dates for publication are notified to students and parents through the Intranet, most usually through Clipboard, our online magazine.

I'm a parent - how do I view my child's Report?
You can log on to the Parent Intranet page and a link will take you to your child's Report.

How do I log on to the Parent Intranet page?
Enter your child's student ID, Date of Birth, and the security PIN code provided to you by the school.

What if I have lost my security PIN code?
You can ask your child to log in to the regular Intranet, and they will be able to access the Report for you. You may also obtain a replacement security PIN code from the General Office.

How do I obtain a security PIN code from the General Office?
Go to the General Office with two forms of ID (including photo ID) which will identify you as the parent of your child. The General Office is open every school day of the year, but is closed weekends and school holidays. Office hours are between 8:30am and 4:30pm.

What if I am overseas when Reports are published?
If you are able to read this page, you will be able to access the Reports in the usual manner, by logging in to the Parent Intranet page, or by having your child log in through the normal Intranet (if your child is with you).

What do I need to have on my computer to read the Reports?
You will need Adobe Reader, a free download that most computers will already have. Your computer may have a different program which will handle the file format (e.g. OSX will use Preview), and it is a good idea to try to open and read the file first, to see if your computer is already prepared. We supply a link on the download report page to the adobe website to get PDF reader

My child requires a printed copy of their Report for a job application; how do I get one?
The online Reports can be printed at home using your computer and printer.

What if I wish to discuss the results or comments with the teacher?
You may send the teacher an email, or you may set up a meeting through the Sub-School Office. See our Contact page for details of how to contact the Sub-School Office.

What is the teacher's email address?
The teacher's email address is their timetable code (e.g. GSC) followed by @gwsc.vic.edu.au.

When is Parent-Teacher night?
Parent-Teacher night is held sometime after Reports are released. Dates are published on the Intranet, usually through Clipboard.

How do I book interview times for Parent-Teacher Night?
Bookings are made online. The online booking sheet usually opens at the same time as the Reports are released.

How can I guarantee that I get to see the teachers that I want to see?
Bookings are made on a first-come-first-served basis. You are advised to organise to have someone positioned to make the bookings soon after they open, as bookings often fill fast.

What happens if I miss out on getting a booking?
If you have a need to speak to a teacher, an appointment can be arranged through the appropriate Sub-School. The appointment will be during (or just after) school hours on a date of mutual convenience.

What are "VELS"?
You can find information on the Victorian Essential Learning Standards on the DEECD's official website.
